Many projects that may significantly affect the quality of the environment are subject to an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). An EIS is a full disclosure document that details the process through which a project is to be developed, includes consideration of a range of reasonable alternatives, analyzes the potential impacts resulting from the alternatives, and demonstrates compliance with other applicable environmental laws and executive orders.
The LA Group's environmental division has successfully completed over 350 comprehensive environmental studies. This experience has afforded the firm a regional reputation as experts in regulatory compliance and permitting. Our environmental group has prepared environmental impact statements (EIS) that meet the most stringent review requirements. We have specialized expertise in all phases of natural resource compliance including SEQRA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, Cultural Resource Protection rules, and Federal Wetland Regulations.
The LA Group has provided numerous professional services to the Great Escape Amusement Park for several years. The LA Group’s environmental group provided three separate Enviromental Impact Statements (EIS) for the Park: one for the new Comet roller coaster placement; one for the Master Plan; and another for the new Hotel/Indoor Water Park.
Our scope of work included environmental analysis, regulatory permitting, site design and civil engineering. As a component of the EIS work, The LA Group also conducted visual impact analyses that guided the projects’ final design. Public participation and input was also a very important component of the projects.
